Scott HarkeyScott has always fostered a love of marketing. A native to Arizona, Scott proudly attended Arizona State University. His time at ASU was spent studying marketing, during which he got a job at a radio station and became one of the youngest person in history be in media sales. Scott then began to work extensively in all aspects of the radio world. He found success in radio formats extending from Hip Hop to Oldies. Before he got involved in a Marketing and Advertising firm and after leaving CBS, Scott help grow a small local Hispanic Billboard company into a regional player in Phoenix and Las Vegas within 2 years.
Now as a Partner at Owens Harkey Advertising, Scott is uniquely qualified among advertising agency executives due to his extensive background in media sales, particularly Outdoor (Billboards) and Radio, which are the keys to local market advertising. Work experience for several Phoenix based radio stations and outdoor companies (national & regionally owned) has given him a market savvy knowledge of rates, inventory, seasonality and placement that provides the very best use of media dollars. Working with companies like Pepsi, Budweiser, Lowes, Chevrolet, T-Mobile, Major League Baseball, and other fortune 500 companies Scott understands that 75% to 85% of a customers advertising budget is spent on media, and only a small part on creative work.
