DB Keyou Craver |
PHOENIX – The Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League have re-signed DB Keyou Craver, WR Darrell Jones, LB/FB Frank Trentadue, DB Tyrone Sanders, and WR/DB Rufus Skillern to contracts for the 2008 season, head coach Kevin Guy announced today. These signings bring the total number of players under contract for the 2008 season to twelve.
Craver (5-foot-10, 185 pounds) will be entering his second season with the Rattlers after a rookie season that earned him a position on the AFL’s All-Rookie Team. His 113.0 total tackles and 97 solo tackles during the 2007 season led all AFL rookies and his 14 passes defensed and four forced fumbles were second among all first-year players. Craver was one of two Rattlers to start every game during the 2007 season. Prior to joining the Rattlers, Craver spent two seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League, helping the Eskimos to the 2005 CFL championship. Craver was drafted in the fourth round (125th overall) by the New Orleans Saints in 2002 where he spent three seasons.
Jones (5-foot-8, 190 pounds) played in ten games for the Rattlers in 2007 recording 25 receptions for 245 yards and one touchdown. On April 20 vs. the Utah Blaze, Jones returned a kickoff and a missed field goal attempt for touchdowns.
Trentadue (6-foot-1, 260 pounds) enters his sixth season with the Rattlers after re-signing with the team in week 11 of the 2007 season. Last season, Trentadue recorded 11.5 total tackles in six games. He has been a versatile performer for the Rattlers playing both linebacker and fullback during his tenure with the team.
Sanders (5-foot10, 180 pounds), a defensive back, spent four weeks on the Rattlers 2007 practice squad before being activated for the final game of the regular season vs. the San Jose Sabercats, where he finished with seven total tackles.
Skillern (6-foot-1, 185 pounds), from San Jose State University, played in one game for the Rattlers in 2007 after spending five weeks on the team’s practice squad.
