He goes by Asi and his nickname is Ace, but both are a few letters short of his given name – Asiolefolasa Asoau Faoa. The 6-foot-4, 275-pound fullback and linebacker is a versatile athlete who has become an accomplished pass rusher. Now in his second year in the league and with the Rattlers, Faoa also played with the San Diego Riptide of af2 following a five-year career at the University of California at Los Angeles.
azrattlers.com sat down with Asi Faoa and asked him a few questions:
Q) What do you love most about Arena Football?
A) Being able to play both sides of the ball, just like I did back in high school. I also enjoy putting veteran fullbacks on their (backsides)!
Q) What’s your most memorable non-football moment?
A) Graduating with my degree from UCLA. If I weren’t in football I’d probably be in school. I currently spend my offseasons going back to school for a master’s degree.
Q) What was your last job out of football?
A) I was a tree trimmer.
Q) The most influential people in your life have been…
A) …my father, Folasa, and my mother.
Q) What is your ultimate dream and goal?
A) I hope to go to law school someday.

A) …I play the guitar and I can also play the piano.
