IFL’s Best Face-Off
This weekend will once again pit the top two teams in the league against each other when the Arizona Rattlers travel to The Denny Sanford Premier Center to take on the Sioux Falls Storm. In week one, the Rattlers pulled off a close win to defeat the Storm 39-33. Since then the two teams have managed to be tied for first in the IFL standings. The Rattlers and Storm are both undefeated at home, and Sioux Falls hasn’t lost a game since that week one matchup. The Rattlers will be looking to get their first road against a Sioux Falls Storm team that has made a few adjustments since their first matchup.
Defensive Changes for the Storm
Amongst some significant changes that the Storm have made, the most notable is the improvement of their defensive line. The offensive line of the Rattlers has opened up running lanes for an array of backs this season while also giving time to rookie quarterback Jeff Ziemba. Arizona is number one in rushing offense and pass protection this season, so the Sioux Falls new-look defensive line is up for their first challenge against a very good unit. The additions include former Rattlers defensive end, Kwame Bell, and nose tackles, Chad Stoterau, and Owen Williams. The three new members will join an already impressive line with Claud Davis and Chris Martin leading the way.
Amos an Arizona Favorite
If the Rattlers offensive line can keep Ziemba clean, then there is a good chance that there will be some huge plays made by Arizona’s Anthony Amos. The wide receiver from Middle Tennessee State has continued to haul in some long touchdown passes this season. Amos has nine touchdowns in five games, averaging almost 17 yards per catch, which leads the IFL. His 251 yards this season have mostly been from deep bombs for touchdowns, followed by an eruption from the fans in Arizona, making him a crowd favorite.
