Medlock to Face Rattler Veterans
The Arizona Rattlers will host their third consecutive home game this Saturday as they look to stay undefeated at Talking Stick Resort Arena. The Rattlers are 3-1 as the Titans come to town along with quarterback Jake Medlock, who is responsible for over 1,000 yards of total offense this season. Medlock will face a Rattlers defensive backfield unit who is second in the league in passing defense. Rattlers veterans Arkeith Brown and Bubba Chapman will look to the challenge Jake Medlock and the Titans. After four games the two combine for three interceptions and 24 tackles. It will be interesting to see the match-up when the Titans take the field against the stingy defense of the Rattlers.
Trade Brings Toughness to the Titans
On the opposite side of the ball, the Titans made a trade that landed them 245-pound linebacker, Robert Haynes, and defensive back Daniel Lindsey, who is the twin brother of Rattlers defensive back Nate Lindsey. The midseason move gives depth to the Cedar Rapids defense, who ranks fifth in total defense through five games. Haynes is a downhill player that will give a run stopping presence to the middle of the defense. This Saturday, Arizona’s offensive line has the responsibility of slowing down the Titans new addition. The Rattlers offense leads the IFL in rushing due in large part to the holes opened by the offensive line. Haynes and Lindsey will give a new look to the Cedar Rapids defense, giving both head-coaches the task of figuring out how the new personnel matches up.
A Close Race
Arizona’s win last week against undefeated Nebraska Danger put them in a four-way tie for first place alongside Iowa, Nebraska, and Sioux Falls. The Rattlers will be determined to go into their bye week with a win to keep them on top of the standings.
Kickoff is at 6:05 pm at Talking Stick Resort Arena. Tune into FOX Sports Arizona or stream live on FOX Sports Go app, or on YouTube to catch all the Rattlers action.
