Baker spent the last decade as Sidewinders Dancers Director for The Rattlers
Phoenix, Ariz. – The six-time world champion Arizona Rattlers are proud to announce that the Sidewinders Dance Director Angie Baker has been named the Director of Cheerleaders for the National Football League’s Arizona Cardinals.
Angie Baker has been with the Rattlers for nine seasons. In that time, the Sidewinders dance team has become a nationally recognized brand.
“Owner Ron Shurts, has created an environment within the Rattlers organization that pushes everyone to do their best, and then do even better,” Baker said. “Head Coach Kevin Guy and his coaching staff have produced champions on the field and in the community, and I feel so fortunate to have contributed to the growth of the Rattlers brand over the past ten years.”
Baker will now take her talents to the Arizona Cardinals, a dance team she is very familiar with.
In between her time as a Sidewinders Dancer and becoming the Sidewinders Dance Director, Baker spent two seasons cheering for the Arizona Cardinals and took part in Super Bowl XLII in Tampa, Florida
Since taking over the Rattlers dance team in 2008, the Sidewinders have been recognized as the best dance team four times (three times in the Arena Football League, once in the Indoor Football League).
“My time with the Sidewinders was nothing short of amazing,” said Baker. “I’m excited to watch the program continue to grow and be recognized as the best in the IFL. This has been an epic journey filled with so many wonderful memories.”
In 2015, the Sidewinders performed in the Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show Starring Katy Perry. Later that year, the team traveled to New York City to perform on the Ellen Show, and were also featured on the 2017 season of America’s Got Talent as back-up dancers.
