MESA, Ariz. – The Arizona Rattlers announce the signing of WR AARON VALENTIN, WR SEAN CREADICK and WR SHAMAR GRAVES.
Following the 2010 NFL Draft, Valentin signed as a free agent with Cleveland and participated in Browns rookie minicamp. Valentin signed with the Rattlers for the 2011 season but was then acquired by the United Football League’s Hartford Colonials. He rejoined the Colonials’ 2011 roster before the team folded.
“I’m happy to be here and see what Arizona has to offer,” said Valentin. “I’m ready to play some football and win a championship.”
In two seasons at Purdue, Valentin had 65 career receptions for 845 yards and nine touchdowns. He also returned kickoffs (21.9 yards avg.) and punts (12.1) for the Boilermakers.
Creadick compiled 66 receptions for 928 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging 14.1 yards per catch during his senior year in 2010 at UC-Davis. In his career, Creadick totaled 133 receptions for 1,809 yards and 13 touchdowns.
He finished his senior campaign ranked 18th in the FCS for yards per game (84), 18th in total yards (928) and 20th for receptions per game (6). Creadick entered the Top 10 single season lists for UC Davis, ranking 7th in receptions and 9th in receiving yards. For career lists, Creadick is 10th for receptions and tied the record for consecutive 100-yard games (4) at UC-Davis.
“One of my coaches at UC-Davis built a relationship with GM/HEAD COACH KEVIN GUY, and it lead to me getting a phone call seemingly out of nowhere,” said Creadick. “I was very excited, and surprised, when [Guy] called me and told me that he liked my film. This is a great organization in a great league. I’m excited to keep pursuing my dream and playing football.”
Graves participated in the training camps of the Chicago Bears and the Washington Redskins in 2010, while also participating in the UFL Omaha Nighthawks 2011 training camp.
“I feel great. It’s a wonderful opportunity for me to play and I am just excited to be in Arizona,” said Graves. “I am grateful to the Rattlers for bringing me in and giving me a chance to see what I can bring to the table.”
The wide receiver played collegiately at Rutgers, where he made the transition into the tight end position, catching 33 balls for 407 yards and five touchdowns during his career.
