Phoenix, Ariz. – The Arizona Rattlers announced Tuesday that they have signed defensive back Arkeith Brown for the 2017 season in the Indoor Football League (IFL).
Brown has been with the Rattlers since 2011. In that time he earned second team All-Arena honors in both 2012 and 2013.
“I am really excited to be back with the Rattlers,” Brown said. “I live in Arizona year-round now, and circumstances in my life have changed. I have recently been blessed with a newborn. I want to stay home and play, so that I can spend more time with my child.”
Brown also spent a season (2011) in the IFL with the Green Bay Blizzard. He earned the IFL Rookie of the Year and first team All-IFL honors that season.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Brown attended Texas A&M where in 2007 he posted 51 tackles in 13 games, 30 of which occurred in the last six. Overall, Brown had 104 tackles, 21 pass breakups, and one interception.
The Houston, Texas native was a defensive back and return specialist at El Campo High School. Brown earned second-team all-state honors as a defensive back as a senior as well as honorable mention all-state honors as a return specialist as a junior. He was also a three-time all-district selection at wide receiver and defensive back.
