. The challenge was for teams to design and bake their own custom pizzas. The teams were chosen at random, mixing all playing positions.
After being given instructions by Special Moments owner, Al Taylor, the teams had 45 minutes to plan and prepare their pizzas for the ovens. Each team was given three “must use ingredients” and then allowed to add ingredients as they desired. The kitchen’s chefs were on hand to offer guidance on dough stretching/forming and ingredient amounts only.
After baking the teams presented each judge a slice for tasting. The captain of each team named and described their pizza for the judges.
The panel of five impartial judges rated the finished pizzas in three categories:
After careful consideration, and much tasting, the judges rendered their decision.
