Mykel Benson is a new asset to the heavy duty Arizona Rattlers’ offense this year and he has made quite an impact in the short time that he has been a Rattler. Coming off of a 2014 Second Team All-Arena honor, he is still relatively unknown and overlooked even though he is fifth in the AFL in rushing. When asked what his favorite part of the AFL experience was, he simply responded with, “being a part of it.” Benson lets his game do the talking as he has been described as a soft spoken competitor whose goal in life is to try to be the best person that he can possibly be. One of his hobbies includes coaching and the main advice that he gives to his players is to never give up and chase your dreams. That advice has served him well as he is considered one of the best fullbacks in the league today and with the Rattlers, he has a chance to fulfill his ultimate SportsCenter highlight by catching or running the game winning touchdown in the championship.
