Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 205 pounds, from Michigan State University, Kerry Reed is in the process of his fifth year with the Arizona Rattlers. Before his prolific Arena Football career, he started this journey like many other football stars; in high school. Reed attended South Dade High School located in Homestead, Florida where he earned All-Dade County Honorable Mention honors during his senior season. Immediately after his high school graduation, the hard work and dedication did not stop for Reed. He went on to attend Coffeyville Community College where he earned J.C Grid Wire All-American Honorable Mention honors. During his two-year tenure at Coffeyville, Reed racked up nearly 1,200 yards and 13 touchdowns as a wide receiver. Reed then transferred to Michigan State University in 2005 where he caught 31 passes for 438 yards and 5 touchdowns in his first year. As a senior in 2006, Reed earned an Honorable Mention All-Big Ten honors, catching 64 passes for 775 yards and 5 touchdowns. Reed says his favorite college memory during his tenure at Michigan State was, “In 2005, we stepped into Norte Dame territory and there were thousands of fans everywhere blocking the entrance to our team bus. We went on to defeat Norte Dame 44-41. After the ball game, we posted our Spartan flag right in the middle of their field. I will never forget that moment.”
