Rattlers to honor fallen firefighters
Phoenix, AZ – The Arizona Rattlers will host Kids’ Night as they take on the New Orleans VooDoo on Saturday, July 13, at 6:00pm MST on Ak-Chin Field at the US Airways Center.
The Rattlers will have a special pre-game tribute to honor the fallen firefighters and will wear a white sticker bearing the No. 19 on their helmets. Additionally, the 100 Club of Arizona will be on hand at the game to collect donations for the 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots killed while battling the Yarnell fire.
To celebrate Rattlers’ mascot, Stryker’s birthday party, there will be special appearances by other mascots from around the Valley. Mascots expected to be in attendance include The Gorilla from the Phoenix Suns, Scorch from the Phoenix Mercury, Sparky from Arizona State University, Thunder from Grand Canyon University, and more.
As part of the festivities, the first 300 kids get in free with a paid adult. The Gorilla Greenhouse will open early at 4:00pm so children can participate in fun crafts, play games and more before the start of the game. Families are welcome to stop by through the end of third quarter.
The Rattlers are also teaming up with Operation Back to School Chandler, asking fans to donate new school supplies. The items can include pencils, notebooks, folders, crayons and more.
