Ron Shurts took over as majority owner and CEO of the Rattlers in 2011. Since then, the Rattlers have won four national titles, including three straight championships from 2012-14, and have appeared in the championship game in six of the last seven seasons.
Shurts has been a part of the Rattlers since the beginning. He has been a season-ticket holder since the team’s first snap in 1992.
A prominent Valley entrepreneur and co-founder of Scottsdale- based Annexus™, Ron Shurts has more than 25 years of experience in financial services, sales and management, and has trained thousands of financial professionals. He also is the owner of Shurwest Financial Group, a national marketing firm for financial advisors, which is also based in Scottsdale.
Before he founded Shurwest Financial Group in 1985, Shurts was an insurance agent selling life insurance, fixed-indexed annuities and long term care insurance to farmers in western Nebraska.
An avid golfer and Nebraska Cornhuskers’ fan, he is active in the community. Shurts is a sponsor of Phoenix Suns Charities, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona and The Salvation Army. In 2014 Shurts accepted the Jason Foundation Community Service Award for his, and the Rattlers’ dedication to the community. He also is a proud father to his son AJ.
