It is Week 19 of the Arena Football season and our team is taking advantage of a bye week. Thought I’d update you all a little bit on what is going on from a player perspective.
This week, I am back in my home state of Oklahoma to hear the heartbeats of the baby girl that me and my wife are expecting. We will also get to see her on the ultrasound for the first time. I plan on relaxing, golfing, fishing, running and lifting weights during this down time as well.
While 15-2 is great, we are still going to take our focus one game at a time. We still have little things we need to improve on and we want to be playing our best going into the playoffs.
The biggest thing I have been focusing on at practice is my focus on my blocking technique, because protecting QB NICK DAVILA, the “LATIN LASER”, is my top priority!
I’ve been on many teams throughout my career, but the camaraderie of this team surpasses any team I’ve been a part of. We have so much fun together on and off the field and there’s never a dull moment with these guys. The bottom line is that we all want to win.
GM/HEAD COACH KEVIN GUY also plays a part in how enjoyable the season has been. He’s not the coach that yells and who is serious all the time. He is very professional and gets us prepared for all of our games, but he honestly may be as big of a joker as everyone else on the squad.
Before I continue my bye week activities, I just want to thank RATTLER NATION for your support and loyalty thus far. Thank you all for making my first season as a Rattler one of my most memorable years in professional football. The atmosphere in the Snake Pit is by far the best in the AFL and that is another reason why having home field advantage is so important to us for the playoffs. Thank you all again for your support and I look forward to seeing you all at U.S. Airways Center on July 29th for the AFL playoff quarterfinal! LET’S GO RATTLERS!!!!
