BRITTNEY GRINER TO PERFORM COIN TOSS AT RATTLERS GAME
Phoenix, AZ – The Phoenix Mercury’s #1 draft pick, Brittney Griner, will participate in the coin toss at the Arizona Rattlers home game this Saturday. The Rattlers are set to take on the San Antonio Talons with kickoff at 6:00pm.
“I am very excited and honored to have been asked to be a part of Saturday’s game,” said Griner, “I can’t wait to see the Rattlers’ play in person, and support my new home team.”
The Mercury took the three-time Big 12 Player of the Year with the top pick in the WNBA draft. The 6-8 star center, out of Baylor, finished her career as the second all-time scorer in women’s NCAA history with 3,283 points. She also set records in blocks with 748 and dunks with 18.
“We are very excited to have Brittney coming to our game and doing the coin toss. Our fans are die hard sports fans and there has been a lot of buzz on our social media about her being at the game,” said Rattlers President, Joe Windham. “Brittney is definitely a play-maker. I’m looking forward to the Mercury home opener and watching them on their quest for a third title.”
The Arizona Rattlers are the 2012 ArenaBowl XXV World Champions and are proud members of the Arena Football League (AFL). ArenaBowl XXV marked the Rattlers seventh appearance in the AFL Championship Game where they have earned Arena Bowl titles in 1994, 1997 and 2012.
