Fans encouraged to donate care package items to benefit families affected by childhood cancer
Phoenix, Ariz. – The defending Arena Football League (AFL) Champion Arizona Rattlers are partnering with The Care Project for its home game on June 20 to benefit families affected by childhood cancer. The Rattlers will kick off against the Orlando Predators at 5 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to donate care package items that will benefit local children and their families who have been affected by childhood cancer. Care package items include card games, coloring books, nail polish, crayons, blankets, slippers (adult and children sizes) and other family activities for hospital stays. The Care Project is also seeking small stuffed animal tigers, a tribute close to the foundation’s heart. The project was founded by a family whose son, a loyal Rattlers fan, was taken in late 2014 by childhood cancer. The tiger represents their son’s fierce, determined and courageous spirit, bringing comfort and strength to those who receive one.
The Care Project is a 501c(3) non-profit that seeks to provide support and assistance to families affected by childhood cancer to lighten the burden of daily household chores and expenses. By providing unique care packages, the foundation hopes to provide comfort in a time of deep emotional, physical and financial distress.
