The Arizona Rattlers are launching some new marketing efforts as they get ready for the start of the Arena Football League season in March.
The Rattlers will have their own branded area open to the public at the upcoming Waste Management Phoenix Open in Scottsdale.
The Rattlers and its marketing agencies — Fisher Design and Steve LeVine Entertainment and Public Relations — will have a 100-foot by 50-foot area near the golf tournament’s first hole for fans. The area is a replica of an arena football field and will have dasher boards with team sponsors’ names similar to the team’s field at US Airways Center .
The Rattlers zone at the golf tourney also will have concessions and drinks, along with team players, coaches and cheerleaders.
The Rattlers are marketing tickets for the upcoming season and trying to boost business sponsorships.
Season tickets to the indoor football team cost between $90 and $990 per seat. Single-game tickets cost between $11 and $125. Other new marketing and advertising programs will be rolled out in the coming weeks.
Scotttsdale businessman Ron Shurts bought the majority stake in the Rattlers last year fromMike Galloway. Shurts is co-founder of Annexus Group Inc. in Scottsdale, a financial service and investment firm and a major sponsor of the Phoenix Suns . Both the Suns and Rattlers play at US Airways Center in downtown Phoenix.
Shurts has promised to up its marketing efforts.
The Phoenix open runs Jan. 30 to Feb. 5, ending just before the National Football League ’s Super Bowl.
