Phoenix, Ariz. – The Arizona Rattlers announced today that they have signed four more players for their inaugural season in the Indoor Football League (IFL). Offensive lineman Ian Joseph, defensive back Adam Sauder, and defensive lineman Shaquille Prather will all join the team as rookies, while wide receiver Larry Cobb will begin his second season in the league.
Cobb (6-4, 205, Tuskegee) worked out with the Rattlers last season, and will begin his first year with the team. Cobb attended Tuskegee University where he helped the Golden Tigers win the 2014 SIAC (Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) Championship, and was named team captain. In his career at Tuskegee he caught 77 passes for 1,422 yards and ten touchdowns.
The Demopolis, Alabama native attended Demopolis High School where he was a multi-sport athlete, taking part in football, basketball, and baseball for the Tigers.
Joseph (6-6, 320, UC Davis) is joining the Rattlers as a rookie in the IFL. Joseph attended the University of California, Davis, where in 2011 he was the first freshman full-time starter at left tackle for the Aggies in over a decade. He was awarded All-Big Sky Conference first team consideration in 2014.
The Sacramento, California native attended El Dorado High School where he earned All-Pioneer Valley League first-team and Sacramento Bee All-Metro second-team honors as a senior. He was a multi-sport athlete, participating in football, basketball and track, where he was an all-league thrower in the shot put and the discus.
Prather (6-2, 250, Eastern Kentucky) is joining Arizona as a rookie in the IFL. Prather attended Eastern Kentucky, where he was utilized on both sides of the ball, but excelled on defense. He finished his collegiate career with 37 tackles, three of which were for a loss.
The Cincinnati, Ohio native played wide receiver and linebacker at Hughes Center High School. He was named team captain for three years and was the team MVP as a sophomore. He was also a three-year varsity player for the basketball team and graduated among the top five in his class.
Sauder (6-3, 215, Taylor) joins the Rattlers as a rookie in the IFL. Prior to making the roster, Sauder spent time earlier this year with both the National Football League’s (NFL) Cincinnati Bengals and the Carolina Panthers.
Sauder attended Taylor University where he earned the 2015-16 Gates-Howard Award (Taylor University’s Male Athlete of the Year), and earned NAIA First-Team All-American honors following his senior season. Sauder had 97 tackles, which included eight tackles for loss and two sacks. He also snagged two interceptions and two forced fumbles. Sauder was also named the MSFA Mideast League Defensive Player of the Year and was the top vote recipient in the NAIA for the 2015 Cliff Harris Award; an award that honors the top small-college defensive player in the nation.
The Grabill, Indiana native attended Leo High School, where he was a multi-sport athlete, and took part in football, basketball and track.
