Phoenix, Ariz. – The defending 3-time champion Arizona Rattlers (1-0) will attempt to go 2-0 for the third straight season when they travel to Las Vegas to take on the Outlaws at 7:30 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center.
This will be the first time that the division rivals will face each other.
Arizona started the season with a 60-43 home victory over the Spokane Shock (0-1) last Saturday in front of 9,455 fans.
Rattlers quarterback Nick Davila completed 21 of his 36 passing attempts for 246 yards and 4 touchdowns. He was sacked twice, once for a safety. Davila did not throw an interception.
Arizona was without wide receivers Rod Windsor, Kerry Reed, and Maurice Purify, which marks the first time the Rattlers did not have at least one of them active since the league reformed in 2010.
That did not seem to slow down the Rattlers. Wide receiver Chase Deadder, caught 3 touchdowns, and wide receiver Jared Perry hauled in another. Fullback Mykel Benson also had a big night as he rushed for 3 touchdowns.
Las Vegas (0-1) will be looking for their first win of the season on Saturday. The Outlaws are coming off a 59-41 defeat to the San Jose SaberCats. Las Vegas fell behind early, and despite a late surge, came up short. Quarterback JJ Raterink through for 4 touchdown passes and ran for 2 more.
The Arizona Rattlers will travel to Las Vegas to take on the Outlaws for the first time in franchise history this Saturday, April 4th at 7:30 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN2. For additional information please visit www.azrattlers.com.
