– The Arizona Rattlers bring back a familiar face and some NFL experience after signing WR Siaha Burley and acquiring DB Ahmad Carroll from the Orlando Predators yesterday morning.
Burley (5’10”, 185, Central Florida) returns to his hometown of Mesa after spending the 2004, 2005, 2008 and 2010 seasons with the Rattlers. He brings vital game time experience, having won the 2005 AFLWA Player of the Year and the 2007 AFL Offensive Player of the Year. Burley led the Rattlers in receptions (133) and receiving touchdowns (33) in 2008 despite missing three games early in the season.
Carroll (5’10”, 190, Arkansas) brings limited arena football experience, having only played one season in the AFL with the Orlando Predators. His one season with Orlando was an impactful one, leading the team with 70.0 tackles, seven pass break-ups and being named to the All-Rookie team in 2008. Carroll’s NFL career saw him being drafted in 2004 by the Green Bay Packers and spending the next 5 years between the Packers and the New York Jets.
Also, the Rattlers traded WR Andrae Thurman to the Milwaukee Mustangs for future considerations.
