Player Profile: Sherman Carter

Sherman Carter is a 6-foot-3 center who makes as big of an impact in the community as his stature does on the field. Sherman is takes every opportunity he is given to give back.  One example of this was on May 7th, 2015. Sherman volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul alongside other Arizona Rattler lineman. They served food to the underprivileged families and played games with the children. From start to finish, Sherman had a big smile on his face that truly lit up the world for these families. His positive attitude and enthusiasm was contagious to the point that it was impossible not to crack a smile around him. The night ended with the Arizona Rattlers receiving an award from St. Vincent de Paul for their incredible efforts and admirable character. Sherman Carter played a huge role in the success of the volunteer opportunity and openly expressed his desire to participate as much as he possibly could. His 310-pound frame is evenly matched by how massive his smile and heart are which proves to be a great asset to the Arizona Rattlers.


Q: What is your nickname?

Carter: All of the guys on the team and everyone who really knows me call me Sherm for short.

Q: What is your best non-athletic talent?

Carter: Believe it or not, the talent that I am best at other than football is actually cleaning and my wife loves me for that!

Q: What would be your advice to youngsters?

Carter: My advice to anyone, especially kids, is to just go all out in anything that they do and do not worry about what others might say.

Q: Who has influenced you the most in your life?

Carter: My mother is definitely the person that has influenced me the most throughout my life because she has always been there for me.

Q: Which part of the AFL experience do you enjoy the most?

Carter: The fans are the part of the AFL experience that I enjoy the most because of the amount of love that they give us each and every day.
