WR Andrae Thurman Joins the Rattlers

– The Arizona Rattlers announce the assignment of WR Andrae Thurman.

Thurman entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2004 and spent time with the New York Giants and Houston Texans before making his regular season debut for the Green Bay Packers. The wide receiver played in 17 games for the Packers (2004-05) and had one start with the Tennessee Titans (2005) where he caught nine passes for 104 yards. His best season came with the Packers in 2005 when he played in 10 games, starting once, and catching seven passes for 92 yards.

A three-year veteran in the United Football League (2009-2011), Thurman caught 57 passes for 796 yards while with the Las Vegas Locomotives – making him the all-time leading receiver in UFL history. Thurman participated in three UFL championship games, winning championships in 2009 and 2010.  The wide receiver played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League in 2006, catching 40 passes for 426 yards and one touchdown.

Thurman started 14-of-16 games for the Arena Football League’s Dallas Desperados in 2007, catching 65 passes for 839 yards and 19 touchdowns.

The Phoenix-native finished his college career at Southern Oregon after spending his first three seasons at the University of Arizona. He led Southern Oregon with 55 receptions for 845 yards and four touchdowns, adding four runs for 25 yards and one touchdown, eight punt returns for 105 yards and 15 kickoff returns for 330 yards, including a 92-yard run-back for a touchdown.

In three seasons at Arizona, Thurman caught 105 passes for 1,530 yards and four touchdowns. He returned three punts for 93 yards and one touchdown and 27 kickoffs for 497 yards.
