ARENA FOOTBALL EXPERIENCE
Darrell Shropshire is entering his second season in Arena Football and with the Rattlers. Shropshire played in 13 games with seven starts with the Rattlers in 2008, notching 1.5 sacks, 11 tackles, 2.5 for loss, and six pass breakups. Shropshire had his best game of the season against Los Angeles on May 2, 2008, recording 1.5 tackles, his first solo sack, one tackle for loss, and two pass breakups.
OTHER PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Shropshire spent two seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. Before being waived on September 1, 2007, he played in all four 2007 preseason games, registering four tackles and .5 sacks. In 2006, Shropshire played in 13 games for the Falcons, starting one, and recorded eight tackles (six solo), one sack, and four passes defended. As a rookie in 2005, he played in 10 games, recording 13 tackles (eight solo), two sacks, and two passes defended. He was originally drafted by the Falcons in the seventh round (#241) of the 2005 NFL draft.
COLLEGE
Shropshire played his final two seasons of college ball for the South Carolina Gamecocks. As a senior in 2004, Shropshire made 28 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, and a quarterback hurry. During his first season with the Gamecocks in 2003, he started all 12 games at defensive tackle. Shropshire was in on 35 total tackles (17 solo), with four tackles for loss, four quarterback hurries, and four pass break ups. He had a season-high five-tackle performance against Arkansas. Before transferring to South Carolina, Shropshire attended Junior College at Coffeyville Community College. He was named First-team Junior College All-America and rated the #7 prospect in the SuperPrep JUCO Top 100. He was named the 2002 Defensive MVP of the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference. He posted 67 tackles and six sacks during his award winning sophomore season and recorded 54 tackles and six sacks his freshman season.

Shropshire was born March 18, 1983 in Kershaw, South Carolina. He majored in Sport and Entertainment Management at the University of South Carolina. Played defensive end, running back and tight end at Andrew Jackson High School. Shropshire also starred on the basketball team, playing center. Chose South Carolina over Tennessee, Florida and Auburn. Has a daughter, Arianna Shropshire.
